VideoBOX Pro

VideoBOX PRO provides professional quality live video demultiplexing, recording and enhancement of CCTV video. The VideoBOX engine is unique in its capabilities of automatically and correctly demultiplexing all known analog CCTV video formats. Live demultiplexing with camera numbers and time & date information is extracted directly from the tape and displayed as overlays on still and live video images.

VideoBOX also includes:

- Compatibility with DCR for Digital CCTV support

- Advanced RAID option, supports capture and

  analysis of long video sequences

- Export and import for several digital formats

- Extensive enhancement, masking and analysis

  tools

- Optional 16 channel live demultiplexing

VideoBOX Professional is a full featured product with many integrated tools and processes.

Some of the key enhancement tools and brief descriptions are listed below:

Averaging & Integration

This is a method of using multiple frames to eliminate random noise or other random factors, such as snowfall or rain, from the video sequence. It can be applied to live or recorded video, and results in static detail through a series of frames being greatly enhanced.

Brightness & Contrast

Improve the brightness and contrast of a single image or entire video sequences.

Brightness and Contrast levels can be automatically adjusted for live demultiplexing.

This can be applied before video is captured in VideoBOX Professional, thereby improving the original dynamic range before further enhancement can be applied if required.

Lighting Correction

Automatic histogram equalisation enhances under developed video, increasing the level of detail within an image or sequence, allowing the maximum amount of detail to be extracted.

Colour Correction

Automatic adjustment of colour balance restores an incorrect tint to the video, which, for example, can often be caused by coloured street lighting.

Zoom & Rotate

Enables you to correct rotated video which may have been caused by footages from damaged camera mountings.

Rotate the position of detail with a sequence for enhancement, such as registration plates.

Zoom in on the footage to maximise the viewing area.

Field Alignment

Detail within moving objects when viewed as still images can often be difficult to read due to the slight time delay between fields of when the original video was captured. Field Alignment separates the image frame into 2 fields, odd and even and allows the user to move one or the other until the detail which is required is back in alignment and fully readable.

Filters

VideoBOX Professional provides users with a list of powerful filters to apply to demultiplexed CCTV video.

The filters can be used to blur, sharpen, reduce noise or find edges of details. They can greatly improve the enhancement of CCTV video or enhance details not immediately noticeable.

Joining & Scripting

Quickly create a sequence of events or a storyboard by joining sections of recorded cameras into a single video sequence. Users may also join saved sequences from the systems hard drive or RS unit into one complete sequence which may then be recorded to VHS tape or DVD disc for viewing.

Masking & Tracking

Masks are overlays applied to an image or video sequence for the purposes of highlighting or blocking specific image data. VideoBOX possesses four types of masks, including a standard coloured shape for blocking detail, a pixelate function for a subtle disfiguration of detail, or a highlight function to increase the contrast to that section of the image and a text/object based mask to allow Titles, lines and arrows etc to be added as required.

All masks are displayed live on the VGA and analog monitor and can be recorded to tape or saved to DVD.

Mask Tracking is included and may also be used to follow or track targets across the screen though a video sequence.

Image comparison

Using 2 images VideoBOX Professional applies calculations to highlight subtle differences which may be missed with the naked eye. Using a selection of tools users can find differences between 2 seemingly identical images.

Image Stabilisation

Video Sequences can be stabilised and movement reduced or cancelled allowing the observer to view the target in the image more easily. Image integration can also be subsequently applied to extract details of static targets from the image.

Moving Object Integration

Using an automatic (draw box around target) method combining Object Recognition and Optional sequence integration, moving targets in an image can be tracked and the relevant pixels integrated to greatly enhance detail. This is particularly useful in low-light or camera shake situations.

Sequence Import & Export

Subject to system codecs VideoBOX can import and export a wide number of digital formats.

Included is the facility to export as uncompressed AVI or DVD ready formats allowing fast DVD production if required.

Object Measurement & Calibration

Various measurement capabilities are available including points, lines and angles with speed approximation (with more than one image) is available and exportable to spreadsheet for additional analysis.
